The weird sense of deja vu exploded into something else entirely. Something that shook her to the core. His eyes narrowed and he reached up, caught her chin in his, staring at her.
She was pale and Cullen thought she looked every bit as shaken as he felt. “The dreams,” he muttered. He caught her face in his hands and forced her to look at him, staring into her pale gray eyes. The ugly, dark bruise around her left eye made her iris seem that much paler and as he watched, the pupil flared, enlarging until just a sliver of gray of visible.
Taige tried to jerk away and he wouldn’t let her. “You had the dreams, too, didn’t you?” he demanded.
Her voice shook as she reached up with one hand to jerk on his wrist, trying to break his hold. “Let go of me.”
Slowly, he shook his head. “You have,” he whispered, dismay spreading through him.
Dismay–and something else. She’d always held herself apart from him in those dreams. But through those dreams, he’d gotten to know her, gotten to know the woman she had become. She was pulling away from him not because she was angry at him, or because she didn’t want anything to do with him.
She pulled back because she still loved him.

Poor baby

Happy Baby has an ear infection. *sniff*

She remains mostly happy. As long as no one touches or speaks directly into the ear and it stays dry, she is her usual ebullient self. If you forget, though, it takes about five minutes to console her. This is particularly sad because she so rarely cries. You know just how bad she's hurting.

I've got to share her with her other grandparents this week. The Earnest One's parents are coming in from out of state.

Middle Sis is also sick. Since she was running a fever today, her hubby had to stay home with their newborn. Lil' Niece is only a month and a half. If Middle Sis is not better tomorrow, I may be babysitting. Poor kid's gonna get loved up one side and down the other.

Babysat with Tiny Nephew today. He's exactly a month older than Lil' Niece. His mom, Baby Sis, had to go check out some job prospects. He's a goofy little guy. We had a lot of fun. I taught him to stick out his tongue. Wait until I teach him to blow a raspberry (Happy Baby does this particularly well - although I recommend staying out of spraying range).

Welcome to the jumble!

I've read so many wonderful blogs in the past two years. Some make me laugh. Others make me think. A few make me mad. Fewer still make me cry. The best can do all of that.

I don't aspire to be among the best. I'm not that profound a thinker or that talented of a writer. I've just decided that I wanted to start putting a few thoughts out there. If no one reads them, that's fine.

I've also found a lot of neat stuff that I wanted to have a place to link to. If you are so inclined, click through. If not, feel free to ignore these posts.

The title of my blog is a family saying. I come from a family of five kids. My dad worked swing shift and my step-mom worked two jobs and was active in the church and community. If they weren't going to be home to cook, when asked what was for supper, they'd say "found". If you found it in the cabinets or fridge, you could eat it.

I was cooking the family suppers by age 14 in self interest. Some of the things I found to cook were odd and didn't appear to go together. A few were outright failures. Many of my meals looked kinda funny but went down OK. Rarely, I turned out a crowd pleaser. If I do as well with this blog, I'll consider myself content.
